It is served by Pokfulam Road and Nam Fung Road, with the Aberdeen Tunnel providing convenient access to the north side of the island. Previously a fishing village, it is now predominantly occupied by high-rise housing estates and industrial buildings. Estates are comprised of more traditional buildings but the area is also home to popular private blocks such as South Horizons. Developments inc. The Larvotto and Marinella have recently been completed, offering more luxury options to those residing in the area. Schools: South Island School is an English Schools Foundation secondary school located along Nam Fung Road. Canadian International School (CDNIS), Singaporean International School and The Victoria Shanghai Academy are found on Nam Long Shan Road and are all recognized International Baccalaureate World Schools. CDNIS is also authorized to grant credits toward the completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). The International Montessori Pre-school is located in Ap Lei Chau. Ocean Park, HK’s longest standing theme park is also situated in the area and offers the visitor both an educational and entertaining experience. It houses an impressive collection of marine species as well as Hong Kong’s giant pandas - An An, Jia Jia, Le Le and Ying Ying.
