I also have 2 small children – I recommend 3 different areas on Hong Kong Island that are suitable for children, depending on your lifestyle:
 

Mid-Levels: where everything is close by

 

Shops, restaurants, small parks and the Central business district are all readily accessible from Mid-Levels. This area is popular with families because the flats in the upper section of Mid-Levels are family size, come with great facilities, such as swimming pools, gyms, and playgrounds, and are only a few minutes away from parks. Over the weekend it’s only a short trip to the South of the Island to enjoy Hong Kong's natural scenery and beaches.

 

Southside: where nature and water are everywhere

 

This peaceful area is a wonderful place for kids to grow up close to the ocean. Another area full of families, the beautiful flats are large and mostly colonial style, with rental prices typically above HKD70,000 per month.

 

Pokfulam: where the sea is very present, and the flats are spacious and well-priced

 

With views of the ocean, this district has flats that are large as well, yet more affordably priced than the South of the Island. This district features large complexes like Bel-Air, Larvotto and Marinella where its heaven for the kids, and easy for the parents to make friends.
