Sai Kung District is comprised of the Clearwater Bay and Sai Kung peninsulas and the east coast of Kowloon. Historically a fishing village, Sai Kung Town has developed into a delightful mix of old and new with wonderful apartments and a very strong community vibe. The area is best known for its tranquil environment, proximity to beautiful countryside hiking trails and water sports. It also boasts an increasing mix of restaurants and pubs set on the waterfront and within the village. A popular housing area for expats to rent, Sai Kung is well serviced by buses and taxis while being a 30-40 minute drive into Hong Kong’s central business districts. For those living in Clearwater Bay, the Hang Hau MTR station is close by and makes for an easy commute to HK Island.

Housing

Sai Kung offers 2 types of housing: low rise villa complexes (many also have shared facilities such as swimming pools), or village houses which are standalone homes that often come with private gardens. The Clearwater Bay neighbourhood boasts some of the most high-end, luxurious homes and apartments in the city with low density and absolute privacy. Favoured by celebrities, billionaires and top professionals in town, the selling and rental prices of many luxury properties in Clearwater Bay are also relatively strong in the real estate market, thus attracting investors.

Schools

Hong Kong Academy was opened in Sai Kung in 2013, attracting many more expats to reside in the area.

There are several other international schools in close proximity such as AISHK and Kellett. All provide school buses services for students living in Sai Kung.
